Rowing is a beautiful sport on the water, but it's also a very useful movement that can condition the body and build power from strength at the same time. It is a perfect compliment to any strength training program as it facilitates a conditioning adaptation that won't interfere with your lifting.
I am a Certified UCanRow2 Master Instructor for Concept2 Indoor Rowing and previously a US Rowing Level 1 Coach. I started rowing in college in 1997 and continued to row long past graduation. After coaching rowing teams mostly on the water, my focus turned indoors as the hype around indoor rowing classes grew and my desire to see good rowing drove me to help others.
No matter whether you row on the water or off, I am passionate about teaching people how to use the rowing stroke (correctly) to build cardiovascular endurance, strength and mental capacity.
